SWU General Graduation Requirements
All traditional students at SWU are required to take the
following courses in order to graduate, regardless of major:
Aesthetics, 3 hours
Freshman English, 6
Literature, 6*
Bible, 9*
Philosophy or Bioethics, 3
Intro to Computers, 3
Science lab courses, 6
Math or Statistics, 3**
History, 6
Economics, Psychology, or Social Studies, 3
Physical Education, 3*
Inter-disciplinary Seminars, 3*
Total, 54 credit hours
*Specific courses are required for these hours. See the SWU
Catalog for official information **Most science majors have a
specific course requirement in mathematics. See catalog, or the
pages for each major (links above and on right).
In addition, 128 college-level hours with a
2.0 or better grade point average are required. Competency in
math, reading, oral and written communication and computing must be
established. A major must be completed, and no grade in the major
can be below 1.6 (C-) without special approval.

been made to conform these pages to the university catalog.
